Among the Clouds

Ten guests, four private baths, two full living rooms, and a Gatlinburg hillside with panoramic mountain views that shift color from morning to dusk. Among the Clouds is built for groups who want the Smokies at their most expansive — the kind of cabin where everyone has their own comfortable space and the whole group can still come together when they want. It's a rare combination, and it works beautifully here.

The Views & Setting

Perched on a hillside above Gatlinburg, the cabin faces out over a sweeping mountain panorama from nearly every room. The main living area's wall of windows makes the view inescapable in the best possible way — the stone gas fireplace glowing on one side, the Smoky Mountain ridgeline on the other, and a wraparound deck connecting both worlds. The deck wraps around with both open and covered sections, so there's always somewhere comfortable to be regardless of the weather, and a porch swing for the slower moments in between.

The Second Living Area

Among the Clouds does something most cabins don't: it gives the group a genuine second retreat. A full second living area — with its own kitchenette, half bath, and workspace — functions as a private floor for whoever needs to decompress, catch up on work, or simply have a different conversation at the same time. It's the detail that turns a comfortable group trip into one where nobody feels crowded by the end of the week.

The Outdoors

The fire pit sits on its own dedicated hillside patio — not tucked onto a corner of the deck, but given its own setting — which makes it a destination rather than an afterthought. Below the wraparound deck, the outdoor hot tub looks out over the mountain views. A charcoal grill and resort golf course access round out the outdoor options for the group.

Game Room

The game room keeps the energy alive indoors — pool table, arcade console, and tabletop shuffleboard in one space, with a home theater setup alongside it. Rainy afternoons and late evenings find their own rhythm here without anyone having to suggest it.

Bedrooms & Baths

Three king bedrooms and one queen bedroom each have a completely private en suite bath — no sharing, no waiting, no negotiating at 7am. A twin bunk handles the overflow for the full group of ten, and a washer and dryer on-site keeps longer stays comfortable.

Location

A quiet Gatlinburg setting with downtown about 25 minutes away — close enough for pancakes in the morning and dinner on the strip at night. The Sugarlands entrance to the national park is roughly 31 minutes. Over on the Pigeon Forge side, Dollywood runs about 33 minutes, with the Parkway and The Island around 35 minutes and the LeConte Center about the same 35 minutes. Private by design, with the whole area still open to you.

The mountains look different from up here. So does everything else.
