Dollywood's Splash Country

Pigeon Forge · 35 shaded acres, its own ticket

A thirty-five-acre water park built into the hillside beside Dollywood, with enough tree cover that you aren't standing on bare concrete all afternoon. RiverRush is the headliner, a water coaster that uses magnets to shove your raft back uphill, alongside a wave pool, a lazy river and a shallow area for small children. Two things to know before you go: it needs its own ticket, and it only runs from late spring through summer.

Dollywood's Splash Country Waterpark

Dollywood's Splash Country is the water park next door to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Spread across 35 shaded acres in the Smoky Mountain foothills, it's the go-to way to beat the summer heat.

Raft rides, speed slides, a big wave pool, a lazy river and splash zones for little ones make it an easy full day for every age. Here's what to know before you go.

Thrill rides at Splash Country

RiverRush

RiverRush is a water coaster that uses powerful jets to push rafts uphill before sending them down again. It's one of the park's most popular rides, so expect lines at peak times.

Mountain Scream and Fire Tower Falls

These are the slides for speed seekers. Mountain Scream is one of the park's original thrill slides, and Fire Tower Falls is a pair of side-by-side speed slides.

TailSpin Racer and Slick Rock Racer

Race your family to the bottom. TailSpin Racer greets you near the park entrance, and Slick Rock Racer is a four-lane mat-racing slide.

Family rides and slides

Grab a raft and ride together on Big Bear Plunge, SwiftWater Run and Raging River Rapids. Wild River Falls and Mountain Twist add more slides for mixed-age groups, and The Butterfly and The Cascades round out the lineup.

Wave pool and lazy river

Mountain Waves is the park's big wave pool and the easiest place to regroup between rides. When you need a break, grab a tube and drift along the Downbound Float Trip, Splash Country's lazy river.

For little splashers

Bear Mountain Fire Tower is a multi-level water play structure with slides, sprayers and plenty of buckets to dump. Little Creek Falls gives toddlers and young kids shallow water and gentle slides of their own.

Retreats and canopies

Want a home base for the day? Splash Country rents private waterside Retreats and smaller shaded Canopies. They're a nice upgrade for big groups or families with little ones who need nap breaks. They're popular on summer weekends, so reserve ahead.
