Dollywood welcomes the youngest adventurers to enjoy gentle rides they’ll want to try again and again! Here’s a handy guide to Dollywood’s kid-friendly rides for young children. These rides all have no minimum height requirements.
For Preschoolers
Dollywood singles out these colorful rides as especially fun for preschool age children:
Black Bear Trail. Ride a friendly bear near a mountain stream.
Frogs & Fireflies. Plump frogs race around a fantasy marshland.
Busy Bees. Bumble bee cars circle a tempting honey pot.
The Amazing Flying Elephants. Kids “fly” on winged elephants that lift riders into the air, going up, down, and around.
Fun for All Ages
Dollywood offers even more rides without height restrictions, including these kid favorites:
Lucky Ducky. Ride a smiling yellow duck around the “pond” without ever getting wet.
Piggy Parade. A larger-than-life scarecrow guards pink porkers as they take kids on a farmyard romp.
Lemon Twist. Spinning “lemon cups” revolve around a giant pitcher of refreshing lemonade. If your family loves “tea cup” rides, you know just what Lemon Twist is all about!
Village Carousel. Treat the kids to this old-fashioned fairground classic. Dolly’s carousel features 60 beautifully painted animals, including a much-loved horse called Dolly, for her long, blonde mane.
Treetop Tower. Dollywood describes this as a “mild thrill ride.” Climb inside an enclosed, acorn-shaped car, and slowly rise 30 feet above the ground and back down again.
Rockin’ Roadway. Car-loving kids can feel the wind in their hair in miniatures of classic 1950s Corvettes, Cadillacs, and Thunderbirds. Moms and dads love this one too!
Dollywood Express Train. All aboard! Listen for the whistle, and you’re off on a five-mile ride aboard a real, full-sized steam train. This 20-minute journey is popular, so arrive early at the station.
Young kids can board other Dollywood rides, too, with a teen or adult, but a few coasters and other rides are off limits based on height. Check detailed ride descriptions online first, so you don’t wait in line for a ride only to discover that your child can’t enter.
Stay close to Dollywood in a private vacation cabin. Spend more time enjoying the park and less time getting there! We’ve got dozens of cabins nearby, so reserve now, and plan the trip of your theme park dreams.
