4 Best Tips for Parking at Dollywood That Every Visitor Should Know

Driving to Dollywood? Before you enjoy thrilling rides and toe-tapping shows, you have to stow your car. Don’t let parking stress you out. Use these four tips for smooth, convenient parking.

1. Understand Parking Options Before You Arrive.

Use the Dollywood website to see your choices so you aren’t winging it on the day you visit. You can:

* Pay to park when you arrive. Pull up to a booth and pay the $25 fee ($27.33 for RVs) by card or with cash. Trams carry you from the lots to the park entrance, so you don’t have to hoof it all the way!

* Purchase standard parking in advance. Dollywood recommends this option for quicker entry. Prices are the same as for drive-up parking. For Gold and Diamond Season Passholders, standard parking is free. You can buy parking online here.

2. Consider Buying Preferred Parking.

This option costs more, but you’ll be so close to the park entrance, you don’t need to ride the tram. If you need to go back and forth to your car during the day, this option could be your best bet. Preferred parking costs $55 a day and includes access to a separate entrance and separate ticket windows. Already got your Gold or Diamond pass? Your preferred parking isn’t free, but you get a discount.

3. Arrive Early.

For swifter parking, be an early bird. Dollywood advises guests to arrive about an hour before opening time (10 a.m. most of the year). Avoid arriving between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., the peak hours when most visitors turn up.

4. Park in Pigeon Forge and Take the Trolley.

Park for free at Patriot Park in downtown Pigeon Forge. Then ride the city’s public transit trolley from Patriot Park to Dollywood. For just $3, you can ride the trolley all day. This option doesn’t work well for those who want to access their cars while at Dollywood, but if you can ditch the car for the whole day and want to save a bundle, the city trolley is the way to go.

Guests with disabilities can check out Dollywood’s parking page to learn about designated spaces.

Stay in a comfy, private cabin close to Dollywood, and spend your time in the park, not on the road. Browse our Pigeon Forge cabin listings now and book your Dollywood getaway today!
