5 of the Best Hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains With a View

1. Alum Cave Trail
This 5-mile roundtrip hike is one of the most popular in the park, and it's easy to see why. The trail takes you past several scenic landmarks, including Arch Rock, Inspiration Point and the stunning 120-foot tall Alum Cave Bluffs. And the views from the top are simply breathtaking.
2. Chimney Tops Trail
Don't let the name fool you - this 1.5-mile trail is quite a workout! But it's well worth it when you reach the summit and are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
3. Clingmans Dome Tower Trail
At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And while the 0.5-mile hike to the top is steep, it's definitely worth it for the incredible 360-degree views.
4. Mount Cammerer Trail
This 11-mile roundtrip hike is a bit longer, but it's perfect for those who really want to immerse themselves in nature. The trail takes you through old-growth forest and past several waterfalls before reaching the majestic Mount Cammerer fire tower. From there, you'll be treated to some of the best views in the park.
5. Rainbow Falls Trail
If you're looking for a shorter hike with a big payoff, look no further than Rainbow Falls Trail. This 2.6-mile roundtrip trail leads to one of the most popular waterfalls in the park, and the views from the top are simply stunning.
