5 Brand New Gatlinburg Attractions to Visit in 2022

Published Dec 14, 2021

Gatlinburg features new places to eat, play and take in the Smoky Mountains in 2022. These are five of the best new attractions and eateries.

1. Activate Games

Players climb, jump, shoot and puzzle their way through rooms, engaging brains and bodies at Activate Games! It’s like you’re inside a video game for 45 minutes of cooperative and competitive challenges.

Cross a tile floor but take care–one wrong step and you’re done. Navigate through a changing sequence of laser beams without tripping alarms. Shoot targets while memorizing the correct pattern of targets to succeed. Cross the room without touching the floor–if you can stick to the wall.

2. Gatlinburg Axe House

Hurl an axe and watch the blade sink into the target. At Gatlinburg Axe House, the guarantee is “You don’t leave here until you stick the board”!

Gatlinburg Axe House welcomes everyone from age four up. Whatever your skill level, you’ll have fun as expert coaches train you and stick around to help out. No alcohol is allowed and safety is the top priority in this unique family sport.

3. SkyTrail at Gatlinburg SkyLift Park

The SkyTrail is now open for spectacular views from a mountain-hugging trail at the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. The SkyTrail connects the two ends of the SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian cable bridge in North America. The trail gives you even more ways to enjoy breathtaking vistas over Gatlinburg and the Smokies.

The SkyTrail follows the contours of Crockett Mountain and is a half wooden boardwalk and half paved walkway. Both are easy strolls and dogs are welcome. The trail leads to the new Tulip Tower, where four platforms offer ever-higher viewing experiences.

4. Chicken Guy!

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is behind this new explosion of flavor. Chicken Guy! brines chicken tenders, fries them to crispy perfection, and serves them on luscious sandwiches with special sauces like bourbon brown sugar barbecue and buttermilk ranch.

Toss those tenders onto Caesar or Mexican street corn salads. Sides include seasoned fries and mac and cheese. Chicken Guy! Is in a great location for a bite while you’re busy downtown!

5. Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar

“Milkshake” doesn’t do justice to these towering creations at the Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar. Decadent desserts feature ice cream plus toppings like whole donuts, cake slices, and candy galore. Choose a mason jar crammed with treats, or get your goodness in a cup or on top of a slab of waffle.

Getting to all these new attractions is easy when you stay at a Gatlinburg cabin rental. Reserve your convenient vacation cabin now.
