Fireworks at Dollywood - The Best Viewing Spots in the Park

Fireworks at Dollywood - The Best Viewing Spots in the Park

Dollywood lights up the summer sky nightly with a spectacular fireworks and drone show. Here’s the scoop on what to expect and how to score the best views!

What Will We See?

The show is the grand finale of each day at Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights festival. Drones form colorful images overhead, including Dolly’s signature butterfly. The fireworks soar following the drone show.

What Time Does the Show Start?

This can confuse first-timers! Dollywood closes at 9:30 p.m. during Sweet Summer Nights–but the fireworks and drone show begins at 9:40 p.m. Stay inside the park at closing time to see the show. Head for the Wildwood Grove section, which hosts the show.

How Early Should I Get a Viewing Spot?

Give yourself ample time to stroll to the Grove from other sections of the park or spend the last part of your day exploring Wildwood Grove, so you’re already close to the show’s location. Some tipsters advise arriving by 8 p.m. to beat the crowds.

What Can We Do While We Wait for The Show?

Join in the pre-fireworks Dance Party. Shimmy your cares away at 8:45 or 9:15 p.m., near the Wildwood Tree.

What Are the Best Viewing Spots?

Fireworks are visible from locations outside the park, but drones are only visible from Wildwood Grove. This makes the Grove the perfect location if you want the full display.

We’ve scoured Dollywood fans’ advice for pro tips about where to stand for the best view. Try these locations in Wildwood Grove:

  • By the Wildwood Tree. You can’t miss this Dollywood icon. Regular visitors advise: Stand near the splash pad that’s next to the massive tree.
  • On the scenic footbridge over Wildwood Creek.
  • At Big Bear Mountain roller coaster. Stand near the waterfall that cascades over this huge coaster.
  • Near the Dance Party. Stand on the elevated area next to the pre-show dance.

Can I See The Show From Outside Dollywood?

You won’t see drones, but Dollywood insiders say that parking lot A is a good viewing spot for fireworks. As a bonus, you’ll exit faster once the show is over. It’s also possible to see the fireworks, at a distance, from Pigeon Forge’s Patriot Park.

After the show, head back to your comfy Pigeon Forge cabin rental. To find your dream cabin, browse our cabin listings right now!
