What Is the Jeep Invasion?

What started as a small gathering of a few Jeep enthusiasts has since grown into one of Pigeon Forge's most beloved annual events — hundreds of Jeep lovers head to the hills every August to celebrate the heritage and spirit of adventure that comes with driving a Jeep.

In recent years, over 50,000 people have attended the Jeep Invasion, shattering previous attendance records. The event stretches across both the interior and exterior of the LeConte Center and draws Jeep owners from every state.

The spirit of the event is genuinely inclusive: you don't have to be a Jeep owner to attend. All Jeep enthusiasts are welcome. First-timers, families, curious onlookers, and die-hard Jeep obsessives all find their place here.

What to Expect at the 2026 Jeep Invasion

🏪 The Vendor Expo — 300+ Exhibitors

The core of the event. Over 300 national, regional, and local vendors showcase Jeep gear, accessories, and custom builds — both indoors and outdoors throughout the LeConte Center grounds.

From lift kits and custom wheels to lighting, recovery gear, winches, soft tops, interior accessories, and performance upgrades — if it fits on a Jeep, someone is selling it here. Some vendors sell out of popular items on the first day, so arrive Thursday morning if specific products are on your list.

Pro tip: Prices at the show may be higher than buying online — but you get to touch, compare, and ask questions in person, and many vendors offer show-exclusive deals or bundle pricing you won't find elsewhere. Come with a list but stay flexible.

🏆 The Jeep Show & Shine Competition

The Jeep Show awards coveted trophies to top contenders across multiple categories — from stock builds to fully custom trail rigs. Categories typically cover best paint, best interior, best lift, best overall build, and more.

Registration fills quickly for Show & Shine competitions, so register early if you're planning to enter your build. Check the official event website.

🛤️ Group Trail Rides Through the Smokies

One of the most popular activities for Jeep owners who come to drive, not just look. The surrounding Smoky Mountain terrain offers some of the best off-road and backcountry trail access in the Eastern United States.

The Nemo Tunnel is one popular trail ride option — a historic railroad tunnel in the Cherokee National Forest that's become a bucket-list destination for Smoky Mountain Jeep enthusiasts. Other trail options vary by year; check the event schedule for organized group ride registration.

🎪 Food, Entertainment & Atmosphere

Food and beverages are available for sale throughout the event, and nearby restaurants are easily accessible. The LeConte Center sits walking distance from The Island in Pigeon Forge, which offers 18+ dining options alongside the fountain shows, Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, and evening entertainment.

The Parkway's full dining, shopping, and attraction lineup — Dollywood, dinner shows, mountain coasters — is minutes away for when you want to extend the day beyond the expo floor.

The Charitable Side: Smoky Mountain Service Dogs

The Jeep Invasion isn't just a gear expo. The event hosts a charitable component benefiting Smoky Mountain Service Dogs — an organization dedicated to supplying disabled veterans with service dogs. Over $100,000 has been contributed to date.

Attending the Invasion means supporting a genuinely meaningful cause alongside the celebration. Look for the Smoky Mountain Service Dogs booth inside the event for more information on how to contribute beyond the admission ticket.

Insider Tips for Attending the Jeep Invasion

Arrive early on Day 1. Popular vendors sell out of items on the first day. If specific products are on your shopping list, Thursday morning is when selection is best. Parking is also easier before the midday rush.

Register for Show & Shine as soon as registration opens. Competition slots fill fast — don't wait until you arrive at the event to try to enter your build.

Book your cabin well in advance. Pigeon Forge accommodations for Jeep Invasion weekend fill months ahead. Colonial Properties' Jeep Invasion cabin rentals put you minutes from the LeConte Center — but availability is limited. Book as soon as your dates are confirmed.

Bring cash for vendor deals. While most vendors accept cards, having cash available for vendor deals and food is recommended. Some smaller vendors offer cash discounts.

Plan for traffic. Traffic can be heavy during the event — plan for delays and arrive early, especially if attending trail rides or popular shows. The Pigeon Forge Parkway backs up on event weekends; leave extra buffer time in both directions.

You don't need a Jeep to enjoy it. Families, casual fans, and curious visitors all have a great time at the Invasion — the energy is welcoming and the display builds are impressive regardless of whether you own one yourself.

Where to Stay for the Jeep Invasion

Staying in a cabin puts you in the right state of mind for a Jeep weekend in the Smokies — and Colonial Properties' Jeep Invasion cabin rentals in Pigeon Forge are just minutes from the LeConte Center.
