What to Pack for Your Stay in a Pigeon Forge Cabin

Congratulations–you’re heading for beautiful Pigeon Forge! Before you hit the road, pack with care, so you’re ready to start your getaway the minute you arrive. Use this checklist to ensure you’ve got the essentials to relax, stay safe, and feel right at home in your private Pigeon Forge cabin.

Essentials to Stay Connected and Well

  1. Phones and chargers.
  2. Tablets or laptops and chargers.
  3. Prescription medications.
  4. A detailed paper map of the area. Don’t assume you can always get cell phone or GPS service everywhere in the mountains.
  5. Rental reservation details. Snap a screenshot of your check-in information including your entry code for any electronic locks.

Kitchen Extras

Your Pigeon Forge cabin kitchen comes stocked with all the basic cookware, but these extras are handy.

  1. Insulated picnic bag and ice packs.
  2. Specialized bakeware or cookware. If you love Bundt cakes or have a favorite muffin pan, bring the special pans along.
  3. Dish soap.
  4. Food storage containers, to fit into your picnic bag or store leftovers in the fridge.

Bedroom, Bathroom and Beyond

There is no need to bring towels or sheets to any Colonial Properties cabin. We provide all the linens you need. That leaves you more room to pack items like these:

  1. Shampoo and conditioner.
  2. Toothpaste and toothbrush.
  3. Soap or body wash.
  4. Deodorant.
  5. Hair dryer.
  6. Appropriate clothing. Bring layers, even in summer. Add extra socks and a waterproof hat.
  7. The right footwear. Bring hiking boots you’ve already broken in, and extra shoes for knocking around town.
  8. Rain gear. Keep umbrellas in the car, but also grab some cheap ponchos. Umbrellas are fine in town but not advisable in the woods.
  9. Swimsuits. Many rentals include access to community pools. Or you can rent a cabin with a private pool!

Outdoor Safety and Fun

  1. Sunscreen.
  2. Bug repellent.
  3. Refillable water bottles.
  4. Charcoal, if you plan to grill.
  5. Outdoor toys and games.

Don’t Forget….

  1. A first aid kit.
  2. Laundry detergent. Detergent “pods” or sheets are easier to pack than liquids.
  3. Dog bowls, beds, and toys, if your pooch is joining you at a pet-friendly cabin.
  4. Your passwords for streaming services. Some entertainment systems require you to use your own accounts.
