River Romp

We had a great time! The cabin was cozy & we enjoyed spending time on the deck in the evenings & being able to hear the fireworks from Dollywood! The sound of the river below us was really relaxing!

We loved the cabin. At first, it seemed too far away from the cities, but we became attached to it being very secluded. The Little Pigeon River is just right off the porch, the water noise was amazing! For January, the temperature was amazingly warm and no rain for our stay! We plan to return. Colonial personnel were extremely caring and nice. We feel quite lucky to have found such a wonderful place to stay!

We had an awesome, relaxing week at the cabin. It was an incredible setting with the river flowing just below and the deck with the hot tub overlooking it. It was simply a great experience!

Cabin was just the right size for our weekend getaway to the Smokies. The bed was comfortable and both bathrooms clean and functioning. Kitchen had ample room and was well-furnished for our needs, to include a coffee pot! The hot tub on the deck was a welcome way to relax after walking and exploring both the attractions of Gatlinburg and the nearby National Parks. Although we didn't have time to enjoy the fireplace, it was also clean and looked like it would help warm the cabin and make it even more cozy. Parking is a little tight, since you share a one-lane gravel driveway with another cabin 30' away, but you can still get two small to medium-sized vehicle parked if needed. We will definitely consider this cabin for our next visit!

we didn’t think we were going to like the property location with it being 30 minutes into gatlinburg/pigeon forge, but we LOVED the location it was kind of our getaway from reality. just plac me to just relax on the porch or in the hot tub. the hot tub does need to be hotter though, especially for it being the winter time. our specific location didn’t have much kitchen cooking ware. we stayed in and ate most of the time so having a little more kitchen ware would be good. but overall the experience, location, and setting was perfect! we will definitely be back!

The location is very scenic. It is away from the noise and congestion of the cities, but close enough to be convenient to get to either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Excellent accommodation for a couple. We would definitely return.

Beautiful and relaxing. Wonderful cabin nestled next to a relaxing creek. True cabin experience. And the folks make renting and check in and out so easy. Thank you to the owners that deviated from 5 day minimum so we could have our anniversary trip on the very same cabin we took our honeymoon to.

My husband and I stayed at the River Romp cabin for our honeymoon. Overall it was a very nice stay, there is no wifi at this cabin and you definitely need it. Absolutely no service but it does say in the listing no wifi, my mother in law booked this cabin as a wedding present for us. The water pressure in the upstairs bathtub is not very good but we just got back in the hot tub. There are these plastic pieces and on the inside of the hot tub closer to the top where you get in and it tore up my husband leg. He has a BAD cut and a huge bruise from whatever those hard plastic pieces are for. If you have small children I suggest helping in and out, my husband is 24 and this bruise is about 3-4 inches in width and length. It messed him up bad!! The only thing I didn’t like at all is there is another cabin RIGHT beside the River Romp, I read over the listing and I didn’t see anything about there being another cabin so close, the guests never bothered us but if I had known that I probably would have picked a different location. If your wanting a really pretty mountain view I suggest a different location, the view from the River Romp is pretty but mostly trees. You are close to a road, you can see cars pass but they can’t see you and when inside you can’t hear any cars passing. Hearing the water flow from the Little Pigeon River is nice! As far as cleanliness, it could have been more clean. There was a long black hair in the shower upon arrival (I have light brown hair). There was dust here and there which is understandable but other than that just the common build up in/on items. The screen on the screen door going out to the back porch is broken so you can’t leave the back door open because of stuff flying in. But like I said, overall very happy. It was a fantastic trip and we had tons of fun!!

We had maintenance go out to the property and fix the hot tub. Unfortunately, we have no control over the water pressure. Cabins throughout the Smokies that run on well water have similar issues where there is less water pressure. We apologize for the issues and we hope that you enjoyed your honeymoon and we wish you a happy marriage!

Perfect for two Nice cozy relaxing cabin! Not to far of a drive to pigeon forge! Sounds of the river while relaxing in hot tub was a perfect Night cap! Would definitely stay a again!
