Ring in the New Year with a Bang: A Guide to Pigeon Forge's Spectacular Fireworks Display

Published Dec 15, 2023

Come to The Island in Pigeon Forge for New Year’s Eve fireworks plus rides, food and music for the whole family. The Island will be open from 10 a.m. until midnight on Dec. 31, giving you plenty of time to celebrate before the fireworks take flight at the stroke of midnight.

Parking is free and there’s no admission fee to enter The island. Here’s your guide to all the fun.

Dance the Night Away

Groove to the sound of local favorites Stephen Goff and the Royals in a free New Year’s Eve concert. This multi-genre band covers it all–rock, country, pop, soul, Motown and more, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Rides Galore

Rides will be open into the night. Don’t miss the iconic Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a 200-foot-tall Ferris wheel that gives you 360-degree views of the Smokies.

Rides and games include amusement park classics, like the carousel, bumper cars and drop tower. For high-tech thrills, hop on board SkyFly to soar over America’s landmarks in a virtual flight complete with smells, sounds and mists. At 7D Dark Adventure, fight off zombies in a shooting game with wind, sound and movement.

Crave hands-on adventure? The ropes course invites you to climb, swing, leap and crawl through 30 obstacles in a three-story-high course. Young kids get their own Sky Tykes ropes course, too! Burn off some energy before the main event: Fireworks!

Retail Therapy

The Island’s 40 shops are open their usual hours on Dec. 31. Check out the specialty food, wine and moonshine shops, clothing boutiques, gift and souvenir stores, toy and puzzle shops, and much more.

New Year’s Noshing

Plan a celebratory feast to ring in 2024. Restaurants include Margaritaville, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Timberwood Grill and Mellow Mushroom pizzeria. Don’t want a sit-down meal? Fuel up for the fireworks show with pretzels, cookies, fudge and more from The Island’s snack shops.

Midnight Fireworks

Listen for the countdown to begin! Dazzling fireworks shoot skyward at midnight. You’ll get a great view from almost anywhere, but some folks love watching the fireworks from the Show Fountains plaza at the heart of The Island.

You’ll be tuckered out after such a late night. Why not head back to a comfy, convenient Pigeon Forge vacation cabin? Book your New Year’s Eve cabin rental now, so you don’t miss out!
