Gatlinburg’s downtown shops boast so much variety, it’s tough to know where to start browsing. This guide lists seven “shops,” but we’ve cheated–two of our listings are unique, local malls, each hosting dozens of specialty shops!

1. THE MOUNTAIN MALL

The Mountain Mall brings historic Smokies culture to life, from the millstones and moonshine still to the Appalachian music in the air. That’s all before you see the 36 merchants here, like these:

2. THE VILLAGE

• Celtic Heritage. Buy fine gifts imported from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
• Life Is Good. The “optimistic apparel” brand sells cheerful clothes for people and pets.
• The Lazy One. Find comfy, humorous pajamas and loungewear for all ages.
• The Honey Pot. Handmade pottery is a Smokies specialty and this shop stocks pottery from kitchen wares to gifts to clocks to mugs.

3. JONATHAN'S

This Parkway store says it’s got your “bear necessities”! You’ll find apparel, moccasins, t-shirts, bags, natural cosmetics, and delightful bear-themed toys.

4. THE PAULA DEEN STORE

Southern chef Paula Deen brings her favorites to downtown Gatlinburg. Take home spices, sauces, linens, cookbooks, and kitchen gadgets, for yourself or for your favorite cook.

5. WOOD SIGNS OF GATLINBURG

Beautiful, all-wood signs make a truly personal gift. This family-owned shop has crafted signs for decades. Visit their storefront to see how you can add these handmade decorations to your home!

6. WILLOW COSMETICS

Willow is an independent, local company creating color cosmetics and skincare, and bath products. Watch them make their natural products in their Parkway retail store.

8. NANTAHALA OUTDOOR CENTER

Shop hiking and camping gear from brands including Patagonia, Columbia, and The North Face. From boots and shirts to kayaks and tents, NOC is a one-stop-shop for outdoor goods.
