Gatlinburg Trail

The Gatlinburg Trail is one of the easiest and most accessible walks in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Beginning at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, the trail follows the scenic West Prong of the Little Pigeon River all the way to the edge of Gatlinburg. With relatively flat terrain and a wide, well-maintained path, it’s ideal for families, casual walkers, and anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor experience.

One of only two trails in the park where dogs are permitted, the Gatlinburg Trail is a favorite for visitors traveling with pets. Bicycles are also allowed, making it a versatile option for both walkers and riders. Peaceful river views, historic remnants along the route, and easy access from town make this trail a must for guests who want a laid-back Smoky Mountain adventure.
