Gregory Bald Trail

Gregory Bald Trail leads hikers to one of the most breathtaking open meadows in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Spanning approximately 10 acres, Gregory Bald is a high-elevation grassy meadow known for sweeping mountain views and vibrant seasonal color. It’s especially famous for its brilliant flame azaleas, which typically bloom in early summer and transform the bald into a patchwork of fiery reds, oranges, and pinks.

In addition to the primary Gregory Bald Trail route, hikers can also reach the summit via Gregory Ridge Trail. No matter which path you choose, the reward at the top is unforgettable panoramic scenery and one of the most unique landscapes in the Smokies.
