Rainbow Falls Trail

Rainbow Falls Trail is one of six routes that lead to the summit of Mount LeConte and remains one of the most popular hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. About 2.7 miles from the trailhead, hikers are rewarded with the stunning 80-foot Rainbow Falls, named for the colorful mist that often appears on sunny afternoons.

For many visitors, the waterfall is the perfect turnaround point and a memorable destination on its own. More adventurous hikers can continue beyond the falls, climbing steadily toward the summit of Mount LeConte for even more spectacular views and a true high-elevation Smoky Mountain experience.
